I'll start off with the first time we came here we had only one restaurant at that time, but we came here and our reaction to everything that Dave taught us was holy shit! We have a lot of work to do when we get back.
We started here, we thought the systems were great and joined before we left. The first meeting we go to was at Langley's, which was amazing and saw how everybody worked together to solve anybody's problems that came up. When we went to Iowa City we did have a menu, but we scratched it two days before.
When we got to Iowa City we knew that it was going to be a couple of days of critical thinking. It was amazing how much everybody got together and trying to help us out. I know I can email Dave, he's got an Excel spreadsheet for everything and if we have a problem with kitchen equipment or anything I can call Fred. I mean we even got our lighting idea from Fred's place.
Everybody has their little thing, I mean wine and you know the different strengths everywhere. For us coming in it was a lifesaver to do that, although we haven't had the chance to input a lot of the systems, because of the partner thing. That's why I brought Jim is we're looking forward to going back and doing all these systems.
I just talked to David at this break and I said we go to a put call on Monday, so on Monday we find out if we have a restaurant that week. I talked to David and set up a time this weekend to sit down and go through all of our options and, basically, for us to know what we're going to do on Monday, whether we're going to say yes or no.
He always answers his phone, which I don't understand, because he's got so many things going on. It's just helped us and kind of put our minds at ease and made us sleep at night. Before we came here it was a lot harder, but we've definitely come full circle and look forward to the future now.
